intellectual property laws have been a pragmatic solution to the problem of competition so far… but at some point they will break down to forcing us into indefensible, insane positions. How can someone own a number? Did they own that number before anyone knew or could prove its value? Now that the number is in my mind, do they own a piece of my mind? We are going to have to find different solutions to the problem intellectual property is supposed to solve because if we don’t, we are going to create much bigger problems for ourselves and our freedoms.

That’s what you think! The Pirate Bay server confiscation was at the urging of the USA. Also the USA pressured Visa and Mastercard to stop working at allofmp3.com. Finally, the USA is filing WTO complaints against China.
This whole deal is kind of getting to be like a bad joke. I mean sure it is kind of ridiculous they can prevent someone from publishing 1 number (not even really a set of numbers), but really this stuff about posting it everywhere?

Not to be a dick, but it’s rude to hot link. Just upload the image to ImageShack instead.
For example,

I never did see the story about the HD-DVD Key. At what approximate time is it on in the video?
May 6th, 2007 at 8:06 pm
XD Very ingenious. News reporters don’t seem to catch this kind of thing some reason?

I saw this on my TiVo this morning.
It was very funny. I pressed pause to freeze-frame.
I think people should get t-shirts made with the number on, then stand in the background in outside live news broadcasts.

I think the USA can do plenty.
