DLDI

Amadeus has written a DLDI driver for DSLinux.

This allows DSLinux to read and write the filesystems of all DS devices supported by DLDI, but if the device wasn’t able to boot DSLinux before the writing of this driver, then this will still be the case.

Nice. Can you still play games with DS Linux installed? I was thinking of getting it but if i can t play my games then i’ll have a pile of unused games lying around. But at least i get linux…….i think.

    You can still run games.

DSLinux does not modify the DS firmware in any way, so “installed” isn’t really the word. It’s more like a live CD with support for writing to external storage.

    Thanks for that

    Hey Pepsiman.

I would really like to put the DS Linux version of Frotz with the larger font on my R4 but I don’t seem to understand the first thing on what to do, what to download, what to type, what to press, and how to start it on my DS. (I think that covers all of my confusion). :o )

Is there any chance you could really dummy down the technical parts and help out a guy who has a retarded gorilla understanding of anything computer related by laying out the instructions, step by step, so even a two year old could figure out?

I would love to have this working by the end of the night.

    Thank you. :o )

    Hey there again.

Well, after an extreme amount of effort I was able to get DSLinux on my R4 card.

The only problem is that the font is terrible on my eyes.

Is there any chance you could offer the Linux version with the larger font and make it available for download?

I read how to compile it yourself but that is something that is completely out of reach for me to accomplish.

I used the consolechar command to make the font bigger after Linux boots up but Frotz crashes when I try to run it.

Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for all of the great work you’ve put into some of your projects and I hope you can respond to question.

Are there any plans for a MMD version of Linux DS?
